How to Choose a Perfect Domain Name

Registering a domain name is a relatively simple task. It is also one of the most important aspects of setting up a successful online business. You need to make sure you register a memorable and search engine friendly domain name name. A lot of the really good domain names have been taken but there are some diamonds in the rough still available if you know what you are doing.

I would suggest you stay away from all the trademarked company names. These companies have spend lots of time and money building their brand names and they will be very critical and watch you closely if you use their trademarked name in your URL. There have been some legislation lately going on about the use of trademarked names in URLs.

The key is to Arkansas Lemon Laws a domain name that is both memorable and easy to say. You want to be able to brand your URL in the mind of your target audience even if they only hear it on a 30 second radio commercial. You also need to know what types of keywords your prospective clients would be searching for when they try to find you.

The only exception to having a short URL is if you can add descriptive phrases to your domain name to make it more memorable. Think of the most popular domain names out there. They are all either very short of very memorable. The best form of advertising and traffic generation is if you can create your brand around a domain name that is very memorable. Also make sure that the domain name you choose is spelled as it sounds. This is why I suggest you stay away from using URLs that have dashes in them. People don't realize there are dashes and give up when they try to find your website.

I hear a lot of people say that all the good names have already been taken and there is nothing good left. That is an absolute lie. There are a ton of good domain names that are just waiting for a million dollar company to form around them.
